She looked at him angrily, "Yes yes, the obnoxious one." she shook her head, "I knew him better, yes he would have wanted to die in battle. But he died before he should have. I know the passion, you forget that once woman were allowed in the guard. I even enlisted before my father died. I was apart of the guard, until mother changed that. I know what it feels like to kill, and feel the bllod flowing rapidly through your veins when in the heat of battle."

"Things have changed since you were in the Guard. There are different creatures, different battles, different experiences. You know some, but you do not know all, and neither do I. I do not wish to argue with you." He looked around, frustrated.

She sighed, "Yes times have cahnged. It has been 2000 years since i participated in battle. But I do miss it. I think I will talk to mother about reopening the Guard to the women. We can only do so much, and I am bored just roaming the palace."

"I do not believe woman should join the Royal guard. Or any part of our army whatsoever." he frowned. "Truth of the matter is that a lot of the men look to this as hope, the women are here, their loved ones are here. It is why they fight as well as they do. Could you imagine loved ones fighting side by side? It would create disorder and hesitation."

She raised her eyebrow, "That is a closed minded thought. I fought beside Daeron many a times. When in battle i think we would know enough not to interfere even when someone we love is in trouble."

"Not everyone thinks this way. Even the slightest thought about someone else while you are in battle could endanger not only you and that eprson, but others fighting around you." he nodded. "If I had a wife, I would never want her fighting in battle, but I wouldn't want her to be weak obviously, but I couldn't think of wondering if in battle she wasn't being attacked by the same enemy as I am. Imagine the thought of someone facing an opponent who is attacking them quite easily and the thought of that same opponent attacking the one you love. It's a crazy notion, though I see the equality behind it, but no, I couldn't imagine such a thought while in battle."

She shrugged, "Well perhaps we need an all woman Guard. Ilthwhen has always been interested in being of the warrior kind. I believe that in order for our kind to be strong, then we all need to have the chance to do what we want. I can imagine wondering that, but only while I was here did I ever think about such things. Not in battle."

"Well then we will see what happens. If women join the ranks again, they won't easily make it into the Royal Guard, that is merely impossible for most. Not even male elves make it. The select of us are very strong." He nodded, and of course he had an advantage, but he'd never speak of it.

She eyed him a moment then spoke coldly, "I was in the Royal Guard. Do not forget this Cirdan. We woman are nto as week as you men would like to think. Perhaps I'll create a woman's Royal Guard." Her voice softened a bit, "WE all have our strengths, Cirdan. We just all need to discover them more." She thought about the Royal Family's secret just shook her head, "I must take my leave Cirdan. Do try and look at teh issue from every possible side." She nodded to him in farewell, then disappeared among the plant life.

"Yes, think of things from all sides. If the creatures here ever found out about what we hide, we would be casted out before we could even argue against it." he shook his head and got up, disappearing back into the Palace.
