He hugged her tightly to him and soothed her with his touch, "I can not answer those questions. Only she can, but maybe it was a plea for attention from you." He pressed his lips against her temple, "I am sure she never ment for it to turn out the way it has. The times I saw her she seemed preoccupied and worried. I can see why. But i am sure she knows that what you choose is for the best."

She tried to relax against his touch, but she couldnt, she looked up to him, unable to take the impending decision she would have to make. She broke down against him, crying to her hearts contempt. "What I choose is either death or exile for my daughter. There is no best in that." She looked up to him sadly. "Either one I choose, I will not see my daughter again. I cannot help but think that she would have never taken so many actions if Halmar had lived..."

He held her while she cried, completely forgetting everythign else. Her pain anguished him. He did not like seeing her like this. "You are the Queen Ireth. If you choose exile, then you can still see her. There are ways." He sighed as his heart broke slightly from what she had said, "Do not blame her actions on his death. It still might have happend. Fate is fate, and it can not be changed."

She looked up to him. "She never had a reason to act this way if he had lived. The fact remains the instant our people went into war against the other creatures and so many casualties were lost, he was lost, I could not bear any others to die, so I closed off our lands to them. So many things could have been avoided, and it ultimately lies within me." She looked away. "It is not that easy, Arioch. This is a decision that will never lie upon your shoulders. You will never have to choose death or to send your own flesh and blood away from you." She pulled away, and just screamed, screamed as loud as she could.

He sighed, "If that is what you think, then so be it." He looked at her and then her words sank in. He looked at her somewhat angrily, "Is that what you think? I have had to do that all of my life Ireth. I never told you this but Before ceresa got pregnant with Yarizel and Farinele she had a miscarriage. I blamed myself and tried pushign her away. I thought I killed our child and did not want the same to happen to her. So do not tell me that i do not know what that choice feels like."

She turned to him, her eyes stained with tears. "You've never had to choose willingly, whether to kill a creature than came from you. I am sorry that that occured to you both the first time, but you cannot equate the two." She sighed. "They are different. Yet they seem to have the same magnitude for us each. You may have tried pushing her away, but you did not know it was Yarizel nor Farinele whom you would have never met had you succeded. I carried her for nine months, I cannot imagine my life without her." She paced around, running her fingers through her hair, and then stopped. "I am sorry, Arioch. I did not wish to meet you in this state of mind after everything that's occured to you."

He looked at her a moment, "Perhaps your right. But Now I need to think of what I am to do about Ceresa." He looked at her a moment then kissed her roughly, "Whatever you choose, do not make your choice because you think it has to be what everyone wants. If she is exiled, i have a place where Iaraya can stay and you can see her when ever you like." He looked at her a moment then faded quickly.

Sh was caught offguard by the kiss, and smiled briefly. She watched him fade, wondering what thoughts ran through his mind. "I shall make the best decision, for my daughter and my people." She sighed, and once again started on her trek wondering where her feet would take her now.
