He stood on a cliff up towards the top of the mountain, looking down on the Town of Shadowed Redemption Hollow. He was there because soon, he would be needed. He watched an evil cloud descend upon a tall tower and shook his head. Things werent going the way they had been planned. It seemed something else was lending a hand in everything, and for once he could officially say that he wasnt the cause of the deaths in this town.

Her feet had led her to the Mountain. She had been sent to Earth to try to maintain and keep the balance. She had not been on Earth for the past three millenia and though many things had changed, every creature was still motivated by the same. She had seen the mountain and wanted to gain a better view of the town she had been sent to, when she saw a figure, standing there as majestic as she had remembered. She lowered her head in shame, for the thoughts that were running through her head at the present time. She walked as soundless as possible, coming a few feet from him, speaking softly. "Arioch, it has been long."

He didnt turn and look when he heard her voice, although he wanted to. He just kept gazing at the black fog. "Yes Ceresa, it has." He felt her presence with every nerve he had in him, he knew that he shouldnt think what he was, but with her he couldnt help it. "What brings you here? Come to counteract against me?"

"In someways, yes." She said simply, coming closer, to stand beside the breataking creature next to her. She frowned feeling the sorrow upon the town. "I've come to try and mend the balance. To make things right, though there's a very dark shadow around this town." She turned looking towards the cliffs with a slight smile.

He stole a glance of her out of the corner of his eyes, and had to keep from pulling her towards him. "It seems its what we live for." He laughed slightly then turned and walked towards a boulder, he crouched and picked up something. It was a butterfly that instantly died in his hands. "Everything dies," He looked at her standing to his full height, he looked back over at the tower, "And this time it isnt my doing."

She watched him silently, as the once fluttering butterfly died in his grasp. She came over to him, taking the butterfly from his hand, her own hand lingering there for longer than it should have. But the instant she touched the butterfly it came back to life. "Just as everything lives." She watched him, mesmorized as always by his demouner. He was the most fearsome of her kind, yet he was as beautiful as Swan that flapped around a creek, and humble as always. "What has occured, Arioch?"

He looked at her fo a few moments, his hand tingling where she touched him. The watched the butterfly with a smile, something only she had the ability to bring upon him. "Life and death are beautiful things." He turned and looked at her again, somethign flashing in his eyes for a moment. He palced his hands on her shoulders and turned her in the direction of the tower, "A great Evil had been unleashed yet again. Something that not even I can control. It will cause death where death shouldnt be." His hands still lingered on her shoulders, he was unable to remove them now that they were there.

Her breath got caught in her throat the instant he touched her. Unlike even those of their kind who could only withstand he touching them for short periods of time. They could remain in such a way forever without being unphased. "Yes, there is beauty in releasing a tortured soul from their Earthly bodies." She looked towards the tower, sensing something dark. "The energy, it feels familiar." She turned away from the city, where the path out of it led. "There's much destruction away from this town. The people flee, and their cries ring through my ear." She looked down.

His hands fell from her shoulders as she turned. He watched her for a few moments, his mind reeling with images. He shook his head and focused on the conversation, "Just like the beauty of bringing life." He moved towards the edge of the mountain again and looked in teh direction she was looking. He closed his eyes and then shook his head, "I can sense two souls in one body. One is being supressed by the other." He opened his eyes and they were a slight blackened color, "That person is causing the chaos."

"Two Souls?" She thought for a moment. "I wonder what could have brought such a thing about. These deaths are disturbing the balance, and yet there is so much we can do. We need to attempt to guide those who can get through this creature. There is a great sadness within the surpressed soul." She turned to him. "But we cannot intervene personally. And none may know of our identities, though..." She turned away. "We may be able to seek help from one that knows our ways, but was shunned by the maker."

He sat there for a few more moments still listening to teh plight of the surpressed soul, "It seems he regrets some things he has done. He is fighting the other, but he is too weak." HE closed his eyes again then opened them back, they were no longer the blackened color. He looked at her, "You speak of the Fallen Yarizel. You maybe right, or we could speak with ehr sister, I sense they are both around." He felt a stirring inside of him as he gazed upon her, he was fighting a loosing battle. "Ceresa, I fear I must leave you." That same shadow passed through his eyes, as his thoughts returned to his longing for the woman before him.

"He must continue fighting, no battle is ever won without giving yourself completely to it." She watched his eyes return to normal. "Yes Yarizel, I have sensed Farinele as well, but if she were to intervene fully, then she will land herself in the same predicament as her sister. We both know he is not one to forgive so easily our kind. She frowned when he spoke. "So soon Arioch? This is the first time in millenia we have spoken and you wish to leave already?" She turned from him. "Just as I stated, in all battles you must give your all to try and gain victory, but in a handful of others, it is not worth the fight." She gave a sigh, hoping he understood. "In some battles, what is trying to be achieved, is unfair for what it deals with.."

He nodded, "Yes well Farinele is close to one in that family. And she could simply speak with her sister." He watched her a few moments understanding her meaning. He stepped towards her and turned her to face him, "We both know that no matter what its forbidden Ceresa." He placed his hand against her cheek, "No matter how beautiful the prize of victory, some battles are left forfeited."

She watched him silently, her eyes full of passion, of love, of longing. His words were true, but the emotion writhing inside of her was too overwhelming. "Yet some are worth the consequences." She gazed deeply into his eyes. "Is it not unfair how long we've been apart. I tire of Angel who can mate with Demons, and other such creatures, but to us it is forbidden. I rather not be a part of something so hypocritical when my soul suffers and I yearn for you, Arioch.."

He looked at her and pulled away, he thought it was just as unfair. Their maker had created an emotion that no one could deny, he had created it in his Angels, and yet they had to deny it. He kicked angrily at a few rocks and gave a frustrated growl, "Why would he create an emotion that causes so much anguish and torture." He touched a tree and looked at it as it died, "You deserve a better life then that of a Fallen."
