"I'm curious by nature. It could very well be my young age. I may look like I am in my twenties, but in reality i'm no where near that age. And perhaps if you would answer the questions I asked instead of avoiding them or disregarding them we wouldnt be in this situation." She gave him an exasperated sigh. He really was infuriating, yet she didn't seem to want to stray away from this strange man just yet.
She eyed him when he started back away. She waited for whatever creature he had said was behind her and even cast her senses behind her but felt nothing. Slowly her eyebrow raised, "Monster? What's it to be this time then? Is it the fabled ghost that haunts these waters? Oh dear what am I to do?"

"Nope." Kalen spun his finger around and smiled. There was a beast behind her, about eight feet tall. There was no aura. He hadn't sensed it, just saw it. It looked like alligator, but with the ability to walk and seemed to have capable thought because it was grabbing a tree, ready to swing it at Zora. He jumped just as she was turning to fall to the ground as the branches swung at them.

She eyed him for a moment not trusting him and wondering if this was some kind of a joke. Then very slowly she turned. Her eyes widened and then she flattened herself to the ground and the branches of a tree scraped along the skin of her back. She looked up again and then moved. She rolled tot he side just as the tree came down on the spot where she had been sitting only moment before. She swore under her breath then pulling her feet beneath her she sprung into the air and somersaulted backwards.
She landed gracefully on the branches of a nearby tree her breath coming in gasps, "What the holy fuck?" She eyed the creature. it's scaly skin would probably be to tough to penetrate with her magic from this point. She'd have to get close enough to touch it so that she could pull the water from its body and perhaps kill the damn thing. Her eyes narrowed, easier said then done. The beast was royally pissed for some reason, she didn't know why she just acted.
Curling her legs beneath her again she coiled herself for a spring, then in the next she launched herself into the air as soft blue lightening seemed to erupt from her fingers and strike the creature. But it wasn't enough, she knew that.

Kalen rolled and watched as Zora fought the creature. He didn't move. He was studying her fighting skills first before he decided to join in the fight with her. He spun into the air and kicked the creature right in the jaw, sending it stumbling back, but by all means the creature was not out of the fight. It caught him by the leg and he landed on the ground, baring his teeth in anger that he let it touch him.

The bright light faded and Zora caught a glimpse of Kalen jumping into the foray. She thanked the goddess he was there to distract the creature so she could move in closer. She skirted the abominations field of view and kept her eyes on its form. From the side she saw Kalens face turned in rage as the creature grabbed hold of him and slammed him down. For a moment Zora smiled smugly, Serves him right for being so insufferable.
But the demons attention didn't stay on Kalen long. In a brief and craceful movement the creature turned and sprung. Zora barely got out of its way. She could feel it's claws dig into the soft flesh of her upper arm and tear. She cried out but did not let the injury slow her down. Turning around to face the creature she held up a hand and bending her fingers motioned it forward, "Come on big boy. Let's play."
The Demon lunged and Zora sailed into the air again, this time she jumped up and over the creature her feet landing hard on it's back. Sending them both crashing to the ground as she lost her balance. But she managed to grab a hold of the creatures arm and very quickly started speaking under her breath. Weaving a spell so intricate and complex she knew the creature would either die or be severly deformed when it did walk away.

He sent several fireballs after it and frowned. The creature didn't even recognize that he was doing anything. "Zora stop! Stop!" He hit her with a light fireball to grab her attention. "The creature, it's absorbing the energy! We can't use that stuff against it!" Kalen took his blade out and aimed for the creatures eye, hitting it dead on.

Zora looked up at the sound of her name and the flash of light but it was to late. The spell had been cast. She had aimed to draw the water from its body, to drain it of every last drop so that it would shrivel to a dry shell. Instead it was the exact opposite happening. Some how the creature had reversed the spell. The Shadow Runes powers were invoked and she was the one being drained of energy and life. She tried snatching her hand from the demon, but it seemed glued. She felt herself weakening, little by little her power was being drained. The monster was absorbing it. In a fit of panic she looked at Kalen, "Kill it. The Spell has been cast, I can't let go. You must kill it."
Zora watched the blade he unsheathed sore through the air and embed itself in the creatures eye. It screached in agony but then pulled the blade from it's self. Blood poured from the gaping socket of it's eye and the creature turned it's hideous face towards her. She was helpless, not even her magic could save her from certain death.

"Oh for Hell's sake!" Kalen shook his head and had about three seconds to debate whether he should let her live or die. He chose to let her live. Running quickly, he sprinted up the side of the creature and produced another blade, this one larger and deadlier looking than the first. He brought the blade down and cut the arm, watching it and Zora fall toward the ground.
The creature screamed in rage, and Kalen felt his own blade from the creature's hand slice right through him. It was one of the more painful moments in his life. Watching blood spray out in a beautiful arc, Kalen continued the attack, jumping right for the creature open mouth. It opened wider than he expected and he disappeared inside.
There was silence for several seconds and then his blade sliced through the stomach of the beast and it collapsed to the ground. Kalen crawled his way out, covered in whatever was on the inside of the beast, but he was carrying a battleaxe he'd found in the stomach as well. He saw Zora on the ground and chuckled.
"Hey, you could return the favor you know. Sort of bleeding to death here." And he tore his shirt off to reveal a wound that stretched from his right shoulder all the way down to his waist. There would be a scar forever, he knew what his own blade was capable of. He would be shocked if she had the strength to heal it.

Her energy was draining, with each passing moment it was growing darker and darker. She looked at Kalen, this man she barely knew, and pleaded with him to save her life. She had so much to live for, so many lives she wanted to save. But she could do none of it if she was dying. She closed her eyes as the creature swung it’s arm. Hurtling her to the ground over and over again. Blood filled her sight, not the creatures but her own. Then it was over. She opened her eyes and looked up in time to see Kalen’s sword cut neatly through the creatures arm.
She fell in a heap and backed away quickly not noticing that she was still gripping the arm. She watched Kalen attack, winced when he was stabbed by his own sword, and screamed when he disappeared into the Belly of the beast. For mere seconds there was silence. There was nothing, then in one agonizing scream the creatures stomach was ripped open and crawled out. She stared for a few moments then ran towards him, still clutching the arm of the beast.
Zora looked at the blood that was streaming out of the wound Kalen pointed out to her. When she raised her hand to touch it she finally noticed the arm. She gave a sharp sort of scream and tossed it aside. She looked at Kalen and pointed her finger, “Not one word about that. Now lay down over there. I’ll be right back.”
In an instant she disappeared. This time she used the normal way to travel. She closed her eyes and shimmered out of existence. She found herself by the bay and instantly she felt stronger. Just the smell of the salt air calmed her hectic thoughts. But just the smell was not enough. She stepped fully into the ocean and dunked herself, washing the gore from her body. But also replenishing her health and magic. Then conjuring a bowl she gathered some of the water and returned to Kalen’s side.

Kalen nodded and sat down on the ground, watching her go. It felt a bit like a wait when she disappeared and he rolled his eyes. "I see you like to take your time doing things." He laughed, looking down at the wound on his body. "If you can't heal me, and I start dying, well, burn me."
Kalen chuckled. "But hopefully you can do something with it."
