Azoras sat at a table in the darkened corner of the tavern, the only remotely noticeable thing about him was a dark red ruby in the shape of a tear that hung from his neck. A frothy glass of ice cold bat blood sat on the table in front of him along with a bowl of beef stew and several large chunks of bread. He was currently dipping a piece of said bread into the stew and eating the soft, chewy, broth soaked bread. Several drips of it slid down his chin and he wiped them with the back of his hand. It was blazing hot outside and inside so he, like several other customers had already taken their shirts off to keep a little cooler. It was why he had ordered the ice cold bat blood instead of some warmer juice or something. Taking a sip of it, he just ran a hand through his hair and took a spoon to the stew, sipping it contently.

She was running late and had to get to work. Her mother and stepmother were off somewhere and didnt remind her of the time. So now she was late, her hair was dripping wet and her scantly clad unifrom was stick to her body. She rushed quickly down the street and skidded into the Tavern, nearly knocking over one of the other barmaids. She made a face when her boss came out and started yelling at her. She stood there letting him have his peice and then she was quick to remin dhim that she didnt need this job, just wanted to work. After a few moments she was released from his tyrade and then grabbed her serving things making her rounds. She came upon a table with a man who looked like he didnt need much more of anything, but being a waitress she still asked, 'Is there anything I can get you?"

"Aye, some salt." He nodded and just looked up to the waitress and gave her a quick smile, and was back to eating his food again. Sifthing through the stew, he found a large chunk of potato and slurped it up, chewing is slowly, being a big fan of potatoes, he enjoyed this one. Not as good as the ones in his grandfather Cerberus' stew, but still, it was good enough that he wanted another one. Tearing off another piece of bread, he just ate that too and waited for the waitress. She was a cute woman. Smaller than him, he knew that much. She was pretty, and why she was working in this place, he had no clue.

She nodded, "I'll be right back with some." She smiled at him and moved away from his table stopping at a few others to see if they needed anything. She made her way back to the kitchens and returned a few moments later with the salt the man needed. She set it on the table and smiled, "Here you go, sir. I'll be right back, I have to go give that gentle men his whiskey." She moved away and stopped at a table not to far off and conversed with the man for a moment. And then started to walk away only to have another man step in her path. "Excuse me sir, I must get back to my work." The man grabbed her and started to drag her to his table, she struggled against him but couldnt get away, "Let go of me you brute."

"Thank you." He took the salt and sprinkled it several times over the stew. It was good but needed just a little bit more kick for flavor. Taking a large spoonful of the stew, Azoras kept his eye on the waitress since she said she'd be right back for whatever reason and noticed a man who was pulling at her like she was an animal and got up. Taking his time getting there, he placed an arm on the man and smiled politely. "Hands off then, eh?" The man went off about how Azoras had no right pulling at the man and that this lady here wasn't anything to do with him and Azoras just eyed the waitress and then the man. "That so huh? What if I told you this here was my girl huh? All mine? What then? I'll even prove it for you." It was then that Azoras quickly pulled the waitress towards him and whispered into her ear. "Hit me afterwards, I'm sorry I have to do this. I want to." And then Azoras kissed her roughly, pulling her against him and kept himself there for about a minute and let go, eyeing the man. "Happy now then you idiot? Leave her alone and you treat her like a queen and you give her a good tip, or I'll be after you, I swear it." He threw up his hand and a fireball emerged from it and he watched the man nod and disappear back to his table and so did Azoras, right back to his beef stew.

She kept struggling with the man trying to shove him off. She knew she could if she wanted but it wasn't her part as a demure waitress. Finally the man who ahd asked for the salt interfered and she was greatful for someone to actually have the courage to stand up to the man. She stood tot eh side watching the confrontation and then stared in wonder when he pulled her to him and made claims that she was his. She didnt fight him but merely kissed him back. Finally she was released from his grasp and she just stood there staring for a few moments. The other man went on his way and so did the other guy. She was left standing there trying to comprehend what had happened. Finally she came back to her senses and made her way back to the man witht he salts table, "My name is Evondra. We could at least know each others names. I mean since we are together and all." She shot him a smile and then picked the salt back up, ''Anything else?"

"Azoras. And yeah, well, about that. I mean, no worries." He shrugged. "Didn't like that man treating you that way." Taking another mouthful of stew, Azoras just eyed the table and his food and then looked back up at Evondra. "Yeah, I'd like something else. How about another kiss Evondra?" He grinned playfully, and just puckered his lips, craning his head upwards since he was sitting down and she was standing up. He wondered what she would do.

She smiled, "No worries. First time I have ever had someone stick up for so thank you." She shrugged, "I am a barmaid it happens. I dont like it anymore then you do, but its my job and I have to deal with it. It doesnt happen often, most people know who my family is. But there are those few who dont." She laughed and looked around then leaning down she gave him a light kiss then pulled away, "For effect. I mean someone must still be watching."

"Call that a kiss?" He laughed and just shook his head. "Someone might be watching, who knows and who cares. I have no clue who you're family is. I'd imagine I probably wouldn't care if I did." He smiled warmly and then looked around. "Well, let me not keep you from working. People need you to help them and all that. I'll finish eating now." He nodded and put his spoon into the bowl and took out a nice piece of meat and ate it enjoyably. It was a good stew now that he had put the salt in it, and because he was in a good mood.

"I call that a small token of my appreciation. Anything more then I might get the reputation of a floozy." She smiled, "You might if you knew but it doesnt matter." She made a face and laughed, 'Keep me from my work? I highly doubt that. But I will let you finish eating. Call me if you need anything." She nodded to him then made her way back among the table taking orders from the patrons and every once in awhile stealing glances at Azoras. She was stopped by one of the other waitresses and laughed when she started asking about him. She simply told her to ask him the questions and not her. She nearly fell over when she started his way.

Finished with the bread, he just took another sip of his drink and watched as an apparent friend of Evondra came over to him and asked him about the woman. Shrugging to a few questions, Azoras just wrote his name down and where he lived. "Give that to her. I'm about to go." Watching the woman walk back to Evondra, he put the money for the meal and a tip on the table and just walked out of the Tavern.

She laughed at the other girl and went on about her buisness. She caught a glimpse of Azoras standing and watched as he left. She smiled as he left the room and turned to be bombarded by Jules. She laughed as she spoke quickly and almost tripped over herself. "Slow down Jules. Slow down. Take deep breathes and relax." Finally Jules had her breath and told her everything. She couldnt help but smile. She took the paper and read what it had on it. With a smile she looked at the door, making a mental note to go for a walk on her way home. She tucked the paper in her pocket and then went bak to her work, smiling even more broadly then before.
