She was holding onto the trunk to the tree and guiding herself down upon it slowly, to sit. She motioned to the daggers on her side, as well as a sheathed sword. "Can you not guess, what I am, Sir?" She started to squeeze her hands, feeling vigor return to them. "I am a demon slayer, Fotheringown."

"I wouldn't know of such things. I'm a Tinker. I build things, I'm an explorer. I don't really have much time for these petty spats." Jon tried to sound apologetic, but realised it came out sounding judgemental.

She just laughed, while shaking her head. "My friend, it truly is ashame many do not have your views. But these 'petty spats,' as you call them, determine who lives and who dies. I'm not sure if you're a resident of this town, or a mere traveler, but the town you are about to enter is filled with creatures that will surely attempt to take your lives. And whether you wish it or not, you may end up getting in a spat yourself. I would advise you to carry a weapon or two, if you plan on not biting your tongue."

"I happen to be rather skilled, thank you very much. Just because my sword work isn't as good as yours doesn't mean I'm not capable. I'll have you know that I have destroyed, in self defense, of course, over a dozen vampires during my travels."

She raised her eyebrow. "Is hat so, sir? Well then you could be named a Vampire Slayer by most. But luckily for you, the ones here are especially weak, or so I've heard." She started to pick up the daggers, and placing them in a bag by her side. She stood slowly. "I must ask you, you said you were a Tinker, correct?"

"Yes, I am. I was actually only passing through when something strange caught my eye." He showed her the compass, which was still spinning around madly.

She looked at the needle of the compass that kept moving fast. She moved her head around. "My guess, is that the minerals, and irons in these town have made it so your compass has backfired, unless you've made it for another reason." She stood, placing the sword on her back. She also placed the bag on her right shoulder. "Do you happen to create weapons? In most cases I would not trust any with such a task, but I sense something in you, something which alarms me to the fact, that we were fated to meet in such a way."

Jon shook his head. "No metals I've encountered yet can do this. If there were, it would solve some of my problems in my other pieces." He looked up and narrowed his eyes. "What kind of weapons?"

"Well you've tredded into new territories my friend, you may find a metal to help you on your search, what ever it may be." She cracked her knuckles, feeling her strength fully regained. Being what she was, her recoveries were not as long as it would be for many creatures. She stepped closer to him. "A bow and arrow set. Made of the finest silver. For silver is the one metal which can defeat more than just one creature. Though I purely figh demons, there are times when others stand in my way, and I cannot allow that." She spat to the ground, tasting her own blood. She glared at a patch of blood, and growled inwardly. The clan of that demon would pay, she swore they would.

"You do realise, of course, that it will be difficult to do. Not impossible, very difficult. And I can't get that much silver myself. I have all the forge and smithing equipment I need, but not the materials."

"If I commision you with the materials, as well as compensate you for your troubles, would you be able to help me, sir?" She looked up at the sky, and heard the familiar squaking of a bird. She stood still, and watched as the bird flew onto her shoulder. She petted it's head gently, turning to Jon, awaiting a response.

He nodded slowly. "Why a bow and arrow set? I've been working on something more efficient, if extremely crude. And loud, for a long time now."

"For the simple fact that it is effective when you see your enemy from a distance. But do tell me, what is it that you're working on, Fotheringown? Who knows, a partnership may come about this, chanced meeting."

Jon narrowed his eyes. "Charcoal, potassium nitrate and sulphur. It releases energy in a flash. I think it can be used to propel something forward from the inside of a tube."

"Hm, is there a possibility that you could show me a demonstration? It may help me, and I've no quarrels in compensating you, once again."
