Salandra had only heard stories of this place. Heard the rumors, heard the family stories, and just knew that this was the place that had changed they people in her life. From her mom and dad, to her sister and brother, and everyone else in between. But she herself had never been here. To know of a place that had changed things and to never have seen it was weird for her. So she wanted to see it. Wanted to possibly go inside and look around. She kenw that was near impossible though considering all the magic that surrounded the place. Only her mother and Maezyl had the power to get in here. Maybe a few other people too. She didnt really know. She sighed and sat down on teh ground and just stared at the front door. Wondering if there was some way to get in.

He smiled and just slowly came into focus beside her, laughing softly. "Even places with guardians can be broken into Salandra. You just have to want it more than you already do. But, well, considering your lineage, Maezyl's about the only one I even bother with worrying about. She held Vandos' children after all, and let me tell you, that's one demon a woman doesn't want to carry children for." He smiled, knew the stories of demon spawn killing those women who couldn't handle holding them. "The others, well, you're all known because of that imbecile Hannibal. Could crack him like a toothpick if I wanted to, and I'm really old. I think though, that if it wasn't for him, and the amazing job he did at making the friends he's made, your lives would be a lot worse. You've no idea how connected we all are, our families, the deals some of us have made before even people like me and Hannibal were born."

She felt something approaching, felt the presence of a Demon and still she sat. She knew who it was, she had run into him a few times. Never really cared for him, but she was civil because thats who she was. She looked up at the man and smiled, "I do know this Hades. But I do not wish to go in just to see if I can break in. I dont really wish to go in at all. I jsut wanted to see for myself the place that has changed my family so much. The place where my mother grew up, the place that seems to be apart of my family." She rolled her eyes, "Maezyl is strong. She was ment to carry Vandos's children. Anyone else might not have been able too." She frowned, "Do not speak of my father in such an ill manner Hades. He has made msitakes but he is a good man. The mistakes in our lives is what makes us who we are. Without mistakes we would not have character or stories to tell. Quit tooting your own horn old man. My father could probably stand anything you throw upon him."

"Maezyl, meant to carry his children? I suppose. Not everything is meant to happen the way it does. You'd be surprised at what were all meant to do in our lives. Maezyl and Vandos could have had the pick of the litter in their own kind, but the two chose to go against everything their kind has ever stood for. They made a mistake. It's why the children are the way they are. Impurity leads to very ill consequences. Look at my grandchildren. I've become extremely proud of them as time has gone on, but Cerberus and Yarizel? I do not agree with what they did, not at all. They're lucky to even have children that are alive, and aren't dead, but walking. It happens. True story." He laughed some more and just clapped his hands together. "You think of him the way you wish. Allow yourself such a thought. I on the other hand, will toot this proverbial horn as much as I wish, because Hannibal is a mere bug, but I don't touch him, because he's far more useful alive than dead child. Look at the amazing and scary young that he's managed to breed. Monsters in any other terms. Because if you think we are normal, nice looking creatures, I would more than likely disagree, because that whole entire generation is an odd mix of genes, creating hybrids like Rionos, Alder, and Dalon. Dalon has the worst position. Imagine being born with the instinct to kill yourself. It's fascinating. Both a Slayer who has the need to hunt, and a Demon, with the need to hunt. It's amazing he hasn't stabbed himself to death. But Ather and Sareana didn't think of the consequences. Orenar understood the consequences, but he's come to terms with the decision, and most of us have, finding more company in our grandchildren than our own children."

She rolled her eyes again, "They chose love over fences. Our kinds build fences around theirselves. Demons think that in orer to create purer power they must mate with their own, while Vampires think in order to rule the world they must conquer it with blood lust, Lycans seek to destroy all the other kinds, and so on and so forth. But love, love tears down the fences of everything. No matter how hard we try to stay within our own little cricles, somewhere the fence is too weak. I chose who I would love. A very long time ago I chose to not follow the orthodox ways of the Vampires. Because I saw what true love does. My own Pappa fell for a Lycan, and not just any Lycan. A Male Lycan. You see everything could be changed. Hybrids are going to make this world of ours Hades. In order for their to be true power or true anhilation of one race, it wont be by the hands of another race. It will be by the hand of a Hybrid." She smiled, "I do think of my father as I wish. I know his faults, his flaws, and his demons. But then again there comes in that one fence breaker. Love. He lets no one talk him down or try and break him because he has the love of his family. Our family is unique all because we allow Love to characterize it. As for all the hybrids, well they learn in time how to counter balance theirselves. We all msut come to terms with what life is bringing us. Even you Hades."

"Whatever you say Salandra. You have no idea how weak that argument is. Hyrbrids will be the donwfall of anything concrete. There will be no specific way of rank, or the chain that needs to be in place to retain order. I don't care what your father did, he's only a Lycan. Nothing in the big picture of things. And what's with two fathers? Hannibal and this other man? You only have one, that's all. One father, the end. I don't understand this concept of considering someone else who had nothing to do with your birth and considering them a father or a mother. It's quite disrespectful to the people who actually had you, regardless of what they did. This is why Cerberus only calls me father. You're not the only one, but Van considers Hannibal a father and that disgusts me to a certain point. Hannibal's more like the child in that relationship. Vandos knows so much, so so much, yet he goes to Hannibal for advice. I don't understand it. Not at all." He laughed. "But love? Love can be conquered. Look around you, look at this castle. This is fact that love can be conquered. Love can't destroy what comes naturally, what is supposed to happen. It's not that creatures think they are better than others, but because it is just like with animals. You should not always interbreed. Trust me." He knew that well, and would never ever speak of Cerberus' older brother, who just happened to be intermixed.

"Weak Hades? No because its the truth. Hybrids will not be the downfall of our world. They will be what makes it. Why do we need rank or a chain of command? So we can try and kill off other creatures? No in order for our world to run smoothly we must accept the fact that there are other creatures who live amongst us. And only then will there be peace with all. But we have creatures like you amongst us. Creatures who think illy of the other species. I can sense it on you Hades, you might speak of these things. But you yourself are hiding behind a facade. A brick Facade that you erected in order to make others think your mighty. But your are no mightier then the rest of us. You have weakness as well. As for my fathers. I have three. The one who helped create me. The one who helped him raise me. And the one who chooses to accept me as his own and be everything that a father should be. That is what defines a father. A man who is willing to take care of someone as if they are his own. Look at Vandos, he has accepted Maezyl's sister as his daughter, just as Maezyl has raised her as a daughter. Its a beautiful thing." She rolled her eyes, "Love is conquered by those who have never really experianced it. You think that my Grandfather was killed because of love. No he chose to die for his love. But he isnt dead now is he? As a matter of fact he lives happily with his wife. The one who supposedly ruined it all for him. Love can be conquered yes, but only for a moment." She laughed, "We are all animals. but because we interbreed, it makes us stronger."

"It is in our natural instincts to be suspicious of all breeds, epsecially ones that aren't us. When I was young, the world lived rather peacefully, and there was no mixing of the species. None. We all stuck to our own kind, but it wasn't until the spread happened that people began to fight. It was a long time ago, an extremely long time ago, but I'm just that old. Before this place even existed. It was the stupid mistake of one demonic prince and a elven princess who first started the mixing. Why do you think the Elves hide now? They are the worst purists of us all. They've actually secluded themselves. They've killed their own kind. We on the other hand don't. We hate them yes, but we don't always kill them. The Elves believe themselves so high, so just, but what goes on behind the scenes would scare you. We all have our terrible elders, but they are, by far, the worst." he ran a hand through his hair. "Happy? Well, from what I hear, there is not that much happiness, what with all the arguing and the consisten drama of your families. It's not worth it. Love only keeps us in things that torture us in the long run. Love causes the problems, but love doesn't end the problems. As for this odd definition, I don't see why someone like Vandos would want to care for a child that is not his. The two of them just minimally get along and you can see that from watching them. It is only through their connection to Maezyl that most of your family even bothers getting along. She keeps you together. She's the one who has sacrificed so much. The woman could have had a much better, fulfilling life if her and Vandos would have left. It's bad enough they went against the natural order of things, but the two actually make it worth amazingly between one another. She should have left with him before they had Rionos. It was their love that caused them the loss of their first child, Regulus. It is the same love which has them with this child now, and I will be amazed if there is nothing wrong with this one. I must admit, as bad as I am, I feel sorry for them. Moreso for Vandos, because as strong as he is, probably the strongest in the entire Tower, but as strong as he is, he can't do anything to help Maezyl with her pregnancy. Three children. Her body has weakened enough from the first two. If she miscarriages, I won't be shocked."

She scoffed and finally stood up. She was short but she didnt mind it. She was taking a stand for something she believed in, "All this talk of mingeling, and inner mingeling. You act like you have never done such a thing. It's not beneath you. I am sure that in some time of your life you have. This world we live in will just have to cope with the mixing. It was bound to happen and now that it has there is no stopping it. Not even you can stop it. As for the elves, that is their choice. But they are mixing as well. With Angels, but still they are mixing. The Queen has a Angelic lover, and her brother has an Angelic wife. They are becoming accepting of it. It may take time for them all to accept but it is bound to occur." She shrugged, "Love does many things, it does strange things, and only when you accept the flaws of love can you truly make it through. I myself have been through so much because of my love for Angelus. And yet I stick with him because there is no life outside of him for me. I could live, but never truly happily." She glared slightly, "Maezyl will not loose the child. You speak such foul things about my sister, when you truly no nothing about her and Vandos."

Hades just looked at her. "Sad Salandra. You think how you want, and I think how I want. You don't see me crying though do you? Don't see me experience such pain right? I think in the end my way is a lot easier to deal with than yours." Hades just shrugged. "I know far more about them than you. You know what happens when they're in front of you, but it's behind closed doors and what happens naturally for them that you have no idea about. I know far mor about Van than you think. Demons have meetings you know, have connections, speak to one another even if were not right in front of one another. Look at people more closely. They're in love, I won't deny it, but they have more problems than you think they do. They practically keep things sewn together. If Van wasn't a part of your family, I'd have already caused trouble. But he loves Mae, and that is one thing I will never disrespect. Why do you think I treat Yarizel with civility, actually compliment her when she cooks. Because my son loves her. I'm capable of love, I just don't always agree with it. But take care child. I will be gone from your eyes now." He smiled maliciously and disappeared.

"I will think how I choose. And I will ignore the thoughts that are yours." She scoffed, "My way is more fun though. To deal with the pain and the tears helps build character, just like mistakes. With out all of it there is no life now is there?" She just looked at him and then shrugged, "It works for them. They still lean on each other and I do not forsee their relationship ending anytime soon. They will survive when no one thinks they will." She rolled her eyes, "I know what Demons do. I do speak quite often with Maezyl's grandfather. Nice man. Unlike any Demon I know." She just shrugged, "You wouldnt be able to do anything to our family. What do this family of Vampires have to offer you? Nothing." She just simply lsitened to him, ignoring half of what he was saying. It was nothing but banter and she was passed caring what this old Demon had to say. Then he disappeared and she sighed releived that she didnt have to put up with him any longer. She looked at the castle again and then up at the sun. She needed to get back to Angelus and Alannah. She sighed and turned taking the longest route there was home.
