The wind blew fiercely as everyone walked about chatting about the most random and idiotic things. A few children had run up to her to ask her a few questions, and with a smile she answered them all. Before the days of women not being allowed into the guard, she was a loyal member of it and fought fiercely with her male counterparts, managing to keep up with them ,as far as skill went and at times she would surpass many of them. When the laws were changed and women were no longer allowed to serve in the guard she did not understand why and although it had occured more than two thousand years ago, just recently, just about 20 years ago, did she come to truly understand why that was made to be so. She looked around, she was as calm as most but it was just a mere facade because inside she was full of anxiousness. She turned to the side, watching a few children play and immersed herself in a few random thoughts.

She made it past the main gates and the instant she set foot into the City, she had been greeted by some old acquaintances whom she hadnt seen in a long time. She spoke to them for a bit then bid them farewell, knowing she had to find someone. She looked around, and didnt see her, so she decided to sense her out. If there was something she had to thank her father for, was the abilities she obtained that were different from the Elven ones. She hurried down the long road, and didnt see them there so she turned and went another way. After a good 15 minutes of searching she came upon a golden-haired, fair skinned, and very beautiful Elven Maiden sitting by a bench. She smiled and hurried towards her. "Naneth!"

She moved to stand and pick up a ball that had rolled towards her seat, but she didnt get very far when she heard a voice and she smiled instantly. The voice was soothing to her ears, and she sounded like an Angel even. She turned and watched as a very pretty black-haired girl made her way towards her, and the instant she was right infront of her, she embraced her tightly. "Selde, I see you've made it safely." She kissed the top of her head.

She smiled widely when she felt her mothers arms around her, and she squeezed a bit tightly, glad to be in her presence again, as well as the Elven city. "Yes, Naneth. I've made it safely. If I hadnt I wouldnt be standing here right now." She moved over to the bench and sat down, just watching her people walk on and about. A few turned to her, frowning disapprovingly to her, but she merely shrugged her shoulders. She didnt care about the narrow-minded Elves who disliked her because she was a half-breed. "They're still the same, you'd think they'd change by now."

She chuckled softly. "True, true, but I was afraid you might've forgotten the way back here since you've been away for a few years." She felt the piercing glare of a few older Elves and she raised her eyebrow, watching as the Maidens turned immediately. She smiled to herself, her reputation still preccedded her, and she was not going to allow anyone look at her daughter like she were some lowly scum. "They'll have to change their views whether they wish it or not. Ireth is about to marry a Fallen, and so has Earnuseato. So they demand respect through marriage."

She laughed when she saw the maiden turn around so quickly, she watched as she almost fell and had to stop herself from laughing, that's exactly what they get for being so hateful for something that doesnt directly concern them either way. She looked at her mother. "Godmother and Godfather both married to Fallens?" She laughed. "We've started a trend, Naneth. Mind you it's taken a few years since after I was born, but still."

She laughed and nodded. "Oh yes, we did start a trend." She looked at her daughter, noting how much she looked like her father, of course the black hair was a dead giveaway because she didnt inherite that from her, since she was a blonde. "You should visit them when you get a chance, I'm sure they will both enjoy your company again. As a matter of fact, I saw Earnurseato a few days ago and he was asking for you. I never knew that either of them would cling onto you so quickly. We were barely in Hiswe for very long. Although being godparents would be a pre-requisite to it. And the fact that they had seen you grow from a baby to young lady of 14 before our departure, might also have something to do with it."

"I will. I want to talk to Laita. I miss her. She would always tell the best stories and would have the best candy." She frowned playfully, and leaned against her mother. She hadnt been back here for 5 years. When they returned from Hiswe she stayed at the City for a year at most, then her father asked for her to stay with him, and she had been with him since. She loved both her parents, even if they were both so different. Her mother was an Elven War Maiden, and still someone feared by a lot of people. And her father was a Fallen Angel. Actually the former Angel of Vengeance, which explained all to well why they had both clicked and then married soon after their meeting. She played with a lock of her mother's hair smiling. She was 20 and still to mostly everyone all around her she was like a child, she barely lived through anything.

She laid her chin on Alair's head and draped an arm over her. The whole motherhood thing had never been easy for her. She had never thought she would be a mother, let alone a single parent. She frowned slightly, as thoughts of her divorce with Zaviel came to her head. During their seperation period, and right before they finalized everything, she realized she was pregnant with Alair and everything changed, surprisingly for the better. She watched a few families walk by, and she smiled glad to have her own back with her. "What are you thinking of, Selde?"

She sighed a bit, and sat straight, looking at her. There had always been a question that plagued her. She had never asked it, because she was unsure of whether she should, and at times she was way too intimidated by her mother to keep going. "Why did you both get a divorce? Why dont I have his last name?" She sighed in relief, inwardly. She had gotten it out, and it felt good.

She sighed a bit when she asked that question. She knew it was coming, and knew for a long time. Álàirënssë had never been one to keep her mouth shut, she was very much like her, and admired that about her. She looked at her seriously. "War tore us apart. He would go off to fight and help his kind and although I understood and even wished to help, he always claimed them to be too dangerous. It was never in my nature to be the wife to stay at home and wonder whether my husband was with life or not. I could no longer handle it, and to keep either of us from becoming bitter we thought it best to end it on good terms. It would explain why we are still very civil, and warm to each other. As for your last name. When I found I was pregnant with you, we both agreed you should remain with my family name, instead of his. Your father has many enemies, Selde. We did..we still do not wish for harm to come your way."

She listened intently, looking at her. "I can understand the divorce but with the name, wouldnt they be able to sene me and where I come from regardless?" She sighed slightly. "I'm sorry, Naneth. I just wondered." She stood up. "Can we head home? I would like to head home and sleep in my bed. I havent been here for five years and I would like to re-explore the area."

"We were both aware of that, but without any concurrent last name it would still be difficult." She stood. "Very well, let's head home." She turned to her, smiling. "I'm glad you've returned, Selde." And with that she headed down the road.

"I'll finish my interrogation sometime in the future." She smiled briefly and followed her. She looked at a few Elves and with her hand to her side she created a small black energy ball, letting her eyes turn black briefly, and watched as they turned quickly and hurried off in the other direction. She smirked, and made a mental note to thank her father for these abilities when she next saw him, and soon she faded down the road walking alongside her mother.
