He was in uniform, on duty for the moment, in Vanyar Hall. Silent, he just looked forward, every few seconds looking back and forth. Checking to make sure his bow and arrows were in order, he just turned and walked the hall, even this action was meticulously taught in the Guard. He had been serving for more than five hundred years in the guard, training since he was a young boy, as was common with other elves. Archery being his main battle option, he was also trained in many other things like sword fighting, hand to hand combat, and long range and short range attacks.

She waited patiently for her sister and mother to leave for the moment. She had overheard them speak of heading to the Linquelanta (Waterfall) earlier in the day. She did not wish to accompany them, so she had locked herself in her room, playing with the staff her mother had commisioned for her in Hiswe, almost a thousand years ago. She rose from her bed, and opened the door. The handmaidens had gone with them, and she was more than glad for this. She headed down the hallway, going for the stairs when she caught sight of him. Cirdan was at his post checking everything and she hurried towards him. Her hands holding the cloth of her dress that laid against her hips, and her silver circlet shimmered in the sun's rays. When she had finally been close enough to get a better view of him, she spoke softly. "Suilaid (greetings), Cirdan."

He took the mandatory kneel and bowed his head. "Suilaid, Princess Laitalënéca." he rose once more and hands behind his back, continued walking, unsure if she would want to stop him this time or not.

She frowned, she disliked when he bowed to her because regardless of the titles she found him her equal. "Daro (Stop)." She walked slowly, coming up towards him, letting the part of the dress she held to fall to its proper place. "You know how I abhor you bowing before me, Cirdan."

"Someone may be watching. Within these walls I have to be careful, and you know this. It is disrespectful not to do so, even if you permit me not to do it." He stopped and just stood where he was."You wish to speak to me?"

"Then let them watch. You acts as if it would affect you in the least. I would never allow them to take your title and what you love from you." She frowned, he almost sounded cold to her. "Yes, I wish to speak to you, but if you wish to carry on with your duties, then go, I wont hold you back, especially if any is watching." She turned tail and headed back down the hallway, slightly angry.

"Rhaich!" he mumbled in Elvish and seeing as he was the only one on post here, he turned and followed her. "Do not walk away from me in that way Laita. You may be a Princess, but I will NOT tolerate that from someone such as you. I am not trying to be mean, not in the least."

She stopped and looked at him. "And praytell, what is someone as I, M'lord?" She did not falter as she watched him. "You sounded so cold. You were never this way back in Hiswe. You did not even care if any, saw us speak to one another. And now back at our arrival in Anduune, you make it sound as if it is blasphemy to speak to one another. Let them all hear, you act as if I care what any of them think. Nothing will change the fact that are my dearest friend, Cirdan." As she spoke the words sadness flashed through her eyes.

He eyed her and spoke out of frustration. "You do not realize that it is I with everything to lose here Laita. You are a Princess and the fact remains is that I am NOT very high once I am taken from the Royal Guard. At least in Hiswe, there were opportunities to be alone, to simply walk without being bothered." He looked at her and anyone outside of these two would view Cirdan as strange, considering this actions and motions were never seen of the Guard while they were on duty.

"You would lose nothing!" She said, angered. "Do you honestly, believe I'd allow them to take your position from the guard. You forget that even my mother holds a special place for you, and she would not allow such a thing." She turned for a brief instance, and then turned back. "There are still opportunities to be alone. Anduune is not the only town within this area. We could actually go into the other town, where the other creatures reside." Though she had been alive for about 2,250 years, she had never been allowed to venture out, so her knowledge of the other creatures was none. "Is it a crime to wish to spend time with you? Even now."

"Do you not recall the strict rules these stuffy elders put upon us?" he frowned in anger. "It is not a crime for you to merely speak with me in such ways, but not many would see it in this way. Your mother has barely spoken to me withing the years I have guarded your chambers. Never have I known being ignored to mean someone held a special place. Others would see it as if I was trying to do something I am not. The Guard would send me into battle ill prepared. They have done it, I have witnessed it."

"She has spoken to you when she has been around. You must be aware that she travels a lot about the towns of our peoples to make sure they are well. So being ignored and not being present are two very different things. And the elders may think much, but the one who has the ultimate word is my mother. They can suggest, they can advise, but her word is final." She crossed her arms, thinking this was a lost cause. "Fine, then live your life by what you think the guard sees fit, and deny what your heart wants." She turned from him, trying to keep the sadness from her gaze.

He growled in anger, and without realizing it, he sent a fireball down the hall and watched a statue burst into tiny pieces and froze in his stance, groaning inwardly as there was no chance that Laita was inside of her room by now and he would have no way to explain what had just ocurred.

She stopped, and turned when she felt the strangest thing and saw a statue burst into flames thanks to a ball of fire, and she could still see him standing there. How had he been able to create one, he was no sorcerer like her mother, this much she knew, and she looked from the statue to him, incredulously.

He turned and looked down the hall."Who did that?" He knew he was reaching by saying this, but he thought maybe in some way it would work and she would think it a freak accident. He rushed down the hallway and looked down the intersecting hall and frowned.
