He walked into the Palace intent on seeing his grand mother or one of his aunts. He didnt really want to speak to his ex while he was here. But he knew he had to do it eventually. He walked down the corridor and stopped a few times when a servant walked passed him and bowed. He hated it. He never really felt like a Prince, but that was because of where he grew up. He had come to stay within the confines of the castle for a few years and then had moved not long after marrying Ithilwen. In many ways he still loved her and regretted what had befallen their marriage. But in the end he knew that they were better off apart.

She was just coming out of Iaraya's chambers when she spotted Dominic. She groaned inwardly and began bothering something. Out of all the people she had to see why must it be him. She looked up again, and decided it was better to get it over with instead of hiding. She turned and started walkign towards him, intent on walking past him.

He spotted her and hoped she would jsut walk into his Aunts chambers. But becasue luck never seemed to be on his side he nodded to her in greeting, "Ithilwen, I trust you are well." He had ment it as just a passing greeting but he found himself halting watchign as she passed by.

she continued passing him by then stopped when she heard his greeting. She sighed and turned, seeing that he had stopped. She looked at him and spoke coldly, "Yes Nic. I Am well. And yourself? Still corrupting our childrens lives?"

He looked at her a few moments remembering the breif meetings they had had before. There was love still between them but because of Dera it would never be strong enough to build a relationship on. It had all turned her into a bitter woman. Nothing like any of the others elves. He sighed, "I am well as well, Ith. And no I am not corrupting our CHILDS life. If you dont already know then we have one child now."

She looked at him a moment as the words sank in and she growled in anger at him, 'You bastard. I told you not to take Damon with you on your adventures after we divorced. And yet you still did it. Never have I heard such disgusting words as the ones you said the night it was finalized. 'Dont worry Ith. I'll teach our son about the perils of life and how to avoid women like you.' Well Nic are you happy? Dera turned out to be a vampire and now our son is dead." She felt a tear fall down her cheek and she wiped it away, not going to allow herself to cry in front of him.

He looked at her and felt his own anger rising, "You insolent bitch. Assuming I let anything happen to Damon. No he is alive. It is Dera who has died. Killed by Hannibal King, Maezyl's father. Speakign of which, How come you never told her. She has been in that village for who knows how long and you never once set foot out of the confines of this castle to go see your granddaughter. " He pointed towards the doors and looked at her angrily, "You are the worst grandmother and mother I know. You have never once saught Damon out. Dera I understadn since she disowned us. But do not blame me for what she was."

She laughed coldly, "Oh yes blame me. Call me a terrible mother. whatever makes you feel better. As for why I have not seen Maezyl. I HAVE BEEN IN HISWE FOR THE PAST 2000 YEARS! I could not very well leave my duties. I never went to see Damon because you probably would not have allowed it." She shook her head, "Lets not pretend anymore, Nic. we both despise each other. So let us just speak only when need be. If we pass again in the corridor we will simply keep walkign and not say a word otherwise." She eyed him a moment then lowered her voice, "Goodbye Nic." She turned and continued down the hall. Tears streaming down her face because it was hard for her to argue with him.

He shook his head, "I blame both of us Ith. But if the shoe fits wear it. If you had tried you could ahve seen Damon. All it took was seekign him. Grandmother would have released you." She just shook his, "Fine. But go see Maezyl Ith or I the next time we pass you'll be on the ground." He sighed, he did nto depise her and he knew she did not despise him. Had everythign in their marriage not went down hill after Dera's birth he knew they would be happy and married still. He turned and started to walk back down the corridor.
