"Yeah. Maybe if that were true." She shrugged her shoulders and moved past the group of people. They were a bunch of loudmouths who had a special affinity to gossip about the most ridiculous things. She had tired of all their wrong information and decided to just get away from them before she busted any heads in. She crossed the threshold of the establishment and quickly stepped outside breathing in the fresh air. It stunk of alcohol, smoke, and sex in there and it was simply driving her insane. She gazed at some of the people who walked by some laughing, others skulking but everyone pretty much moving along with their lives to wherever it led them. She smiled briefly and stepped forward.
Niessa looked good despite caring for two very rambunctious twins and the stress of dealing with her own demons. Of course her 'demons' involved a ton of spirits who asked for aid in moving on to the afterlife. It was aggravating at times and yet she couldn't just abandon them in their quest for eternal peace. So she did what she could. There weren't as many nowadays for the simple fact that she had learned to block out that particular gift. If she didn't she would've gone insane by now. But right now it didn't matter. She was just enjoying a rare day of relaxation.
Her steps were slow as she turned a corner and stared at two recent monuments that had been erected. It was a means to honor some of the heroes of old as well as those who had died during the various fights that had marred the Hollows. It was a beautiful monument she had to admit and she wandered towards it just to gaze at it. After a few moments she turned and went for a nearby bench. She took a seat and her body grew languid, thinking of nothing in particular just trying to enjoy the peace for once.

Alder's boots crunched on the ground, and most people moved out of his way. It had been about a month ago where he all but demolished the town square in a very bloody fight. He wasn't banned, because naturally people didn't want a repeat of what had happened. He could sense his sister in the area and it had been about two weeks since he had been home or anywhere near the Hollow.
Alder ran a hand through his hair and watched as some of the sun outside glared off of the taut scars on his body. He probably had enough scars for each creature in the square. Smiling, he came up behind Niessa and covered her eyes softly with his hands. "Guess who."

"The Incredible Hulk?" She squeaked and smiled. She'd sensed him easily enough. It was her twin brother after all and after everything they'd been through they had this uncanny connection that she simply didn't share with anyone else. Not even her beloved Rionos. She pulled his hands from her eyes and turned to see him. He had scars everywhere, which was no big surprise to her since it was Alder after all. He looked though, all things considering.
"Where did you run off too? Two weeks. Two weeks and I didn't hear a damn thing from you!" She put one of her hands on her hips and pointed at him as if nagging and then just broke into hysterics. She probably looked like some upset lover right now. "Sorry. Couldn't help myself. At the rate you're going this might be your own "lover angered" scene... even if it's just a mockery." She put her arms around him and squeezed him tightly. "I'm glad you didn't come back maimed or worse." She would always worry about him no matter how powerful he was or how long he was away.

"I try to be as safe as possible. I stopped by the house already, brought everyone gifts, including your husband and Hannibal. I swear, you give that man something foreign to eat and it's like a holiday." Alder had grown used to the chaotic family that Niessa married into.
"As far as the angered lover scene goes, I don't think I want one, ever. Though I think mom worries I'm not happy because I'm always away and stuff."

"Hannibal is special so it's no surprise." She chuckled and pulled away just to get a good look at her brother. He looked good even with all the wonderful new scars he had. She rolled her eyes some and simply sighed. "You say that now. But the right woman or.... man... will come along and then you'll be lovesick like the rest of us have been at some point. Besides, it's mom's job to worry. You were always her little man." She grinned. "When the twins are old enough we should go off somewhere together. Rionos won't mind and I miss doing things like that with you."

"It'll be a woman, definitely. I'm too greedy to be with another man." He laughed. "And yes, you're right, she does worry, but usually about me more than you. But I guess when you're the one with more problems, it tends to be that way." Alder smirked. He knew he worried the family a lot, especially when he'd become obsessed with death, but it was sort of in the family line because of who they were related to.
"We can go on a trip if you want, that's fine. We have a lot of time on our hands. A long time actually." He rolled his eyes.

"I figured it would be a woman but you know I couldn't discount the other possibility. I guess though that woman won't ever be Zora, right?" She shook her head some and merely grinned at him. She linked her arm with his and sat down on the bench, pulling him down with her. "She does. Sometimes... well sometimes you're something else. We all worry. Dad too even if he doesn't say it a lot." She shrugged her shoulders. "So what exactly did you go do? I know it wasn't a long time but you usually tend to come back with a hell of a story. You should write them down for your niece and nephew. They'll love to hear those stories about their uncle."

"Just visiting some friends and had to help them a bit because they needed a bodyguard of sorts." Alder shrugged. "This time it wasn't really that exciting. I just went there to be with friends. Fought some people, but they weren't anything really dangerous for me. A few marks and good hits in, but that's it."

"Well then this trip is a failure as far as fun stories go." Niessa rolled her eyes. "You have friends?" She opened her jaw wide as she teased him. "I would've never thought it." She pulled her arm away and just stuck her tongue out at him. "Ever think our lives world turn into this so quickly?"

"Not really no." Alder shrugged. "I wasn't sure where my life was going to lead, but I just see this as the way it is, and that's that. I try not to think of how I could have done something differently, or if I do, I sort of just try to make sure it doesn't consume me like it use to."

"Well that's good. But there isn't anything wrong in thinking of those 'what ifs'." She nodded and stared at a group of people who brought flowers to place at the base of the monument. "Sometimes I wonder how much worse off we could've been with everything we've been through. I don't think there are many people who could survive what we've survived. Heh. Guess it helps being a part of such a powerful demonic family." She shrugged.

"I guess so. We're just who we are. Honestly, we could have died and not been here to discuss any of the what ifs." Alder laughed. "We're just lucky creatures. Lucky to have been born into strong family lines. Lucky to have survived what we survived. Some of it's luck, but we've come close to death quite more often than others around here."

"It's poetic in a way. After all how many people can claim that the blood of death runs in their veins, you know? So it's no surprise that we've died or almost died a lot more than everyone else. You know... when I died I was torn. I was beckoned by both sides to join them. They said we'd have to choose to one day whether to go to Heaven or Hell." She frowned as she thought of that fateful day.

"Then we have to pick the same place so we can still hang out." Alder smiled softly. "When we die, we'll just have to go to..." Alder thought about it for awhile. "I've been to Hell, because I died, but was able to come back because of grandpa. So I guess Heaven is a lot better. But what if we don't get a choice? I might not get one."

"I think we'll always have a choice Alder. We've done good and we've done bad. And we're demonic and we're angelic. For you and me and Oroan, we'll always have to pick which part of our blood calls out to us more. I think that's why Grandpa Hades hates the fact that we're mixed. Because we'll always have a choice of what we'll become and that would mean that to an extent we're denying the other blood in us. Does it make sense?"
