He dove into the water and started to swim towards the waterfall. It was his first time being alone in days since he had spent every waking minute with his family. When he wasn't with Farinele, he was with Theoden. And when it wasn't with Theoden it was with Ireth and his neices and nephew. He'd gone to town a few days past to try and see Cirdan and Laita but when he came to their home he found neither was there. He left them a note and wondered if they received it. He missed them both. The little girl he had spent so much time with and treated like his own. And the little boy who he had basically raised and became his son. He paddled his feet and arms, managing to swim past the heavy waters of the waterfall. Just a little more and he would make it to his personal 'secret' spot. It was a cave he had discovered here when he was a child. And all during his life he would always take his neices and nephews, and even his 'sons' here. It was like a secret spot that only they knew about. And one that he would show Theoden soon. He would have shown Farinele, but this was one of the things he cherished more for those he considered like children. A spot that would always remain for them and no one else. His sign of loyalty. It was funny because they had all even come up with a secret pledge not to let anyone know of it but they're children, and of course those who already knew of it. Using magic he managed to furnish it into a nice little home, even including food. Which grew there. In the 'ceiling' of it was a small hole that let some speck of sunlight in. And then of course was the little whole that was probably about 10 feet in diameter. He made it through the hole and pulled himself up, water drippin everywhere. He sat with his feet in the water and ran his hands over his face. It had truly been a long time.

Folding up his uniform, he just wrapped it up into the water-tight wrap he had. Usually standard and specifically sewn and made for the Ranks. He was on duty again for awhile, and he already missed Laita, and his little princess Amarate. But he had to do his job right? Had to make money. He was royalty now through marriage to Laita. So he was sort of like, well, a Prince. He hadn't been promoted in rank however. Oh well. One day. Looking at the waterfall, he figured he'd go to be alone for awhile and to think. Mostly about information he'd found out about his mother. He was technically descended from a very powerful Elven line. According to the books he'd found they were only rivaled to several other families. Diving into the water, he managed his way under the fall and through to the secret spot. Pulling himself up, he shook himself off and smiled widely. "Dad!" He tackled Earnur to the floor and hugged him tightly.

"Umph..." Dang, he had gotten caught by surprise. He laughed hard and patted Cirdan's shoulder a few times, pushing him to the side and grabbing his leg and twisting it the same way he used to do when they would wrestle. Good times, man, good times. "Dont you know I'm an old man. I'm brittle, you'll break my bones and then who will carry me around if that happens?" He pulled away and shook the excess water from his body. "I never thought I'd see you for years at the rate we're going." He smiled widely. "How have you been? How's Laita?" He moved towards what looked similar to a living room area and grabbed a two towels throwing one his way.

Starting with his legs, he dried his body up and just rolled his eyes. "Oh please. You're not THAT old. You can handle a few more tackles, besides, you need to be strong for battling if you have to go and do it." he laughed some and just stood up. "Oh we'd see one another eventually. Laita needed time away from here, to see things, experience things. We went to a lot of places, and well." He went into the wrap and into his uniform. Always on him. Picture of Laita and Amarate. "You're granddaughter I would imagine." He smiled proudly and handed him the picture. "Her name is Amarate and Laita brought her to the palace. Were staying for awhile I think. I think it's easier for me and her to stay here knowing we can go and come to one place or the other." He nodded and just looked around."Man I haven't been here in years!" He ran towards one of the walls and grinned, seeing his sloppy carving of his name. The wall of glory as the kids called it.

He grabbed the picture and slung the tower over his shoulder. There was a soft smile on his lips as he saw the way Laita held that beautiful little girl. "A grandfather and great uncle. Which would be better?" He looked at him and handed him back the picture. "She's beautiful. She truly is and she has a part of both her parents. The way she's holding that bottle, she'll have quite the grip. Be careful she might become a fighter and what to join the Royal Guard." He perked up. "Staying here? Great. Hopefully Laita will talk to me now." He sighed a little but then plastared his smile on his face. "You've got a little 'brother' to visit. It's only right Theoden and you get to know one another. My sons. I would add Eruhir...but I havent seen him...longer than I havent seen you."

"Oh he came around the other day and said he had things to handle in regards to his own little past as did I." he smiled and just put the picture back into his pocket. "Whatever my daughter chooses to do, I will be happy and will simply be her father. As for this Theoden character, I'll be glad to meet him." he nodded firmly and just cracked his knuckles. "How've you been though? let's hear about you for awhile. I'm not important right now. I missed you. I've had a daughter, so that's enough of my life. She fills every minute I'm not sleeping or working. It's insane. How you ever managed to survive raising me is crazy."

"Hmmm. I still need to find him. I'll start looking later on." He bent down and started wiping the water from his legs and then threw it on the floor. He moved onto the floor and laid down on the floor. "I didn know 3 year olds were characters, but I'll introduce you both when I see you're not too busy with your daughter. What is her name?" He listened to his questions. "Stressed. I've been out and about investigating a few problems. I hope to solve them soon. But for the last few days, I've been better. I've managed to spend time with my wife and son. Although I did try to visit you and Laita. Did you get my note?" He scratched his head. "Do you remember when we used to come here to get away from everything when you were smaller? I believe this is the first place I caught a younger version of you and my neice kissing for the first time." He laughed. He remembered that day, when he popped up they were both scrambling and acting like nothing happened.

"Yeah, yeah. I got the note and all that. Were not always busy." he laughed. "She's not that bad. She's very cooperative most of the time unless she's hungry. Then forget about it." he laughed some more and rolled his eyes. "I remember being here all the time when I was younger. Always here, that was until the Royal Guard. It's a nice place and I'm glad you showed me. I can't wait to show Amarate." he nodded and sat down. "Life's alright then, I suppose. Nothing grave and dangerous you want me to do? I've been dying to go on some awesome dangerous adventure like we used to. No pun intended."

"Good. I was worried for a moment there." He smiled. "Food tends to make the best of us go a little crazy. I can't wait to meet her. Grandfather." He laughed. Man, was he getting old. It was becoming more apparent. "I think sometimes you tried to avoid me here and I would always find you. To think we'll be showing the newest generation." He looked at him and his smile faded. "Nothing at all. I only want you to enjoy yourself, alright?" And he would leave it at that. He was going to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves while he set everything up behind the scenes for what people would need for what lay ahead. He had already started actually. Harper Scouts setting up camp in town, carrying some temporary medicine until the real cure was found. He perked up again a little. "We still need to do the long awaited race around the world. Remember the stakes? If I lost I would be under your command for a week, and vise versa."

"I don't care two lick about the race around the world when you tell me something like that, all secretive like Earnur. Maybe before I'd have let it go without a fight, but I have a daughter to worry about now. Don't hide important things from us, especially not from me. I'll let you have it if you do." He gave Earnur a serious look and just frowned, walking away to where the food was, grabbed an apple and started eating. Earnur wanted to keep secrets, then so would he. If Earnur wanted to know about his parentage, well, he'd have to wait and find out cause he was pretty sure Earnur and even a lot of the royal family was in the dark about the killing of his mother. "Anything else you want to tell me? Or is that all? Dismissed?" He was mimicking the type of arrogance some officers showed in the Royal Guard. They'd tell you one thing and leave you clueless and then you were dismissed. He knew it was disrespectful, but he wasn't a little boy anymore.

He gave Cirdan a quick look but then stared off onto the blue waters that seemed to overflow from the rim of the hole out of the cave. He could lie and keep this from many people. But when it came to his children it wasnt something he could do so quickly. He would always be honest with them, even to a fault. He ran his hands over his face for awhile. To tell him or not to tell him. To let him know be against everything he was ever taught as a Harper Scout. But not to let him know would be betraying a son. And he realized what was more important to him. What should be important to any person. "A plague." He said suddenly. "Not some run of the mill plague that takes a few lives but one that ravages towns, cities. It's turned people from civilized creatures to animals seeking for only one thing. Blood. It's killed millions. No cure, no anything." There were tears in his eyes. Tears of regret, tears of mourning for those who had been taken both those he knew and those he didn't. Tears for the images he'd seen of parents against children, children against parents, perhaps the most painful of all.

He turned in his spot and looked at his father and saw that he was crying. "A plague? Everyone?" he frowned. Amarate and Laita. If they were taken away from him he would have nothing left to live for. Walking to his father, he just wrapped his arms around him tightly and rubbed his back, and then out of nowhere he began to sing, a song that Earnur sung to him as a child to make him feel better when he was sick, or sad, or hurt. "It's alright dad. Please don't cry." he frowned. He was always bad at this part. "Shhh...you'll figure it out. We all will. But who else knows? As far as I can tell, no one and to keep it a secret, is a terrible thing to do to all those creatures. It's not right. How did you find out? Tell me everything."

He wrapped his arms around Cirdan. He was glad for this. For the support they always had for one another. He tried to stop his crying but the images of those parents having to just do that to your children. It truly broke his heart. And he was breaking down mentally and emotionally everyday. Every day he looked at Farinele and Theoden he realized of the possibility of losing them, it drove him insane. "I dont know how many but others do know, most of them do not reside here. They've been searching for those responsible for the cure, for everything. We all have. But the bastards that did this made sure to cover their tracks well." He took a quick breath. "I've been at a crossroads as to what to do. They deserve to know...but they also deserve to live life carefree for a little while...I...I dont know what to do, Cirdan. It feels hopeless, as if I've failed countless people..." He sucked in another breath. "I can't keep this from you...we've always been honest to one another. That's how I raised you and I will tell you the truth. I'm a member of a secret organization called the 'Harper Scouts.' And it's these people who know and who have been working day and night to find out anything that can help everyone. It's why I've barely been here for the past few months....Cirdan...son...what should I do?" There was confusion written in his eyes. "What would you do? People should be prepared...but it's unfair that everyone live in fear...especially if....if..."

Earnur was asking him for advice. This, well, this rarely happened. It was always Cirdan who was looking for guidance. He sat back and kept a hand on his father's shoulders. "Dad, the people deserve to prepare. If we all know were going to die, everyone will work together like you've never seen before. I just...me and Laita have seen the capability of compassion with these people. To leave them in the dark for too long will be to have their deaths on your hands. This group should have BEEN preparing people. You tell them, they will not believe, they will need proof. Waiting for too long makes that process take longer as well. Better to die prepared than unable to at least put up a fight. It is the way of the warrior. It is the way of all of those who live, to want to live just one more day. If you don't tell, I know, and therefore I will tell those close to me. If you and your group, who seem to be so protective over this world yet refuse to allow it a say in its fate won't do anything, the people, this town, my friends, we will. Never play god if you are not a god. NEVER allow those you care for to be shoved into the dark. All of this I know, because it is how I was raised dad. If this plague should come and I should die, always know that you and you alone made me the man I am today. Without your guidance, or your firm hand, I would not be as knowledgable as I am now. You are, and always have been my father. I don't care what anyone else says. I am Cirdan Dariel, son of Eärnursëáto Táralóm."

The words coming out of his son had awakened him to how he should have been. He was right in all his words. In their quest to protect the world in someways, they had abandoned it by not allowing the world to know of what was happening. Unity. It was what they all needed. All of them and maybe working together they could defeat this. Perhaps cause the bastards who did this to come out into the open. Such an obvious lesson and his son had to be the one to teach it to him. He laid his hand against Cirdan's and wiped away the last of his tears. He wouldnt shed anymore tears. He would honor those who died by letting everyone know of what was going on. He stood an then brought him into a tight hug. "And let no one tell you that you are not my son. Because you are my son, one that I am proud of. And one that I have made sure everyone knows about. You honor me by calling me as such, Cirdan. And you've given a confused man, hope and a determination to do what's right. Forgive me for keeping you in the dark. I felt, I thought it was in your best interest. But perhaps our silence was what those responsible wanted. Everyone wll know of this by the end of the week. And I myself will go on to warn people. Would you.....come with me as we herald people to unite for this?" He squeezed Cirdan's shoulder. "Thank you, son. Thank you for opening my eyes to my mistake. I love you."
