Humming softly, she walked down the narrow path lined with shrubs and trees of varying sizes. She was petite compared to some of the trees and looked up as if amazed by natures whims, which she was. She had a gray lined bag strapped across her shoulder that had an awful tendency of chafing her and her hand instinctively went to it to release some of the tension. As the twigs crunched under her boots she realized that dusk was quickly approaching lining the skies with different shades of red across the horizon. It was beautiful to see it through the trees of the path. Finally she'd made it out of the woods and found a large road stretching out before her.
She gazed all about as some of the humans walked out ready to begin the day's toils and was simply surprised that she could sense no fear from any of them. Then it hit her, they must have lived here for many years and were no longer afraid of what creatures made this place their homes. With little other thought she hurried forward to a group that was becoming increasingly larger. She looked about wondering what was happening and lo and behold it was another town worrying about the awful plague. She frowned slightly and walked away. It was depressive enough and she would bypass anymore of that for the time being.
Isbeth gazed and saw some shoppes and although she knew she was in need of some new weaponry she decided to head for the lake simply because she enjoyed the sound of water and she needed to rest. She was a rogue now and she knew it wouldn't be long until those looking for her would find her but right now she needed to sit, rest, and think. She had taken an important scroll and if anyone could help her she figured Yarizel or Farinele could. After all it dealt with some of the secrets of their greatest enemy, the Seraphic Xarkic.
And with that she headed off towards Lake Bloodran hoping for a brief respite.

"Yes, I'm sorry too Malnon. But this is just life." He turned to the ever starving hellhounds he kept with him at all times. There were five of them, and he looked towards them. "Go on. You may feast." And he turned, stepping out into the shallow water, the man's screams dying slowly as he was taken by the hounds. he could hear them crunching on bone. Aeraloth ran a hand through his hair, the water growing somewhat dark from his presence.
The plague seemed to be causing havoc in more ways than one. People were in despair and confusion. While this increased, it seemed to increase the lust for fear and the strength of demons. He had never felt his power take such a turn. Not that he was weak before this, but there was something about the atmosphere that made it feel like home for a demon. Death, destruction, depression. What else could a demon ask for?

A scream filled the air and it snapped Isbeth from her reverie. She had arrived not even ten minutes ago and had gone directly to sit and think. She wondered how much longer she could evade her Angelic Pursuers. And she wondered too if she would have to do what was needed, mainly kill them. This was one of those life changing moments. A single action could affect the entire world and that decision laid on her shoulders now. She frowned and closed her eyes. Someone had lost their life, that scream signaled that much.
As she gazed at the water a terrible shiver came over her as she sensed a terrible power nearby. It wasn't evil persay just powerful and she had no doubt that this person was to blame for the life lost. She stood momentarily to get a view of anything and in the distance she could see a male. With that she sat back down and took in a deep breath.
"I have to make a decision."

"About what?" He materialized from his spot on the water, to standing right beside her. "I mean no harm angel, but I can't help but smell sin on you. And great sin at that. The kind that can get you killed." His lips curled up into a smile. "What brings someone of your stature all the way to Lake Bloodran?"

She didn't even flinch at the sound of his voice. She wasn't surprised and had suspected he would find her sooner rather than later. "Whether to truly commit the ultimate sin against my kind." She closed her eyes. "I have little choice but to kill my own brethren something I knew would be a necessity when I did as I did." She opened her eyes and turned to look at the demon before chuckling softly. "Someone of my stature? Necessity. I'm being hunted."

Aeraloth shrugged. "My kind kill each other all the time, so to me that doesn't really make me feel as if you're in much of a bind. But your kind is above that, is it not?" He smiled. "Apparently not, because they want you dead, so kill or be killed. Makes no sense for you to die. Am I right?"

"Yes but... well I don't have an answer to that. It's just the way things are with demons. With us, well I'll tell you a little secret which might not be a secret at all. Most Angels have little to no will of their own. They do as their told by the commanding Seraph and most never truly question the purpose of what they do or the fairness. I've freed myself from this cold tyranny and yet I'm still bound to some aspects of my old life. I know what I must do and until I do it I won't be free of this bit of doubt. Does it make sense? But I will kill them because ultimately we would all suffer because of one megalomaniac." She got up and eyed the Demon.
"I am Isbeth."

"That's usually the case though, isn't it?" Aeraloth shrugged his shoulders. "You're talking about things that have happened with my kind for all time. Except you have to put fear into people to get them to do what you want. A bit easier for all of us to co-exist these days because a lot of the big guys are working together to not compete as much in terms of control."

"Well I'm glad your kind has set a system. My kind are a bunch of witless idiots who do as they're told and can't think farther than what they're 'tasks' are. So it's easier said than done besides I don't want to be some messiah. No time for that nowadays what with the running and fighting and what-not." She shrugged her own shoulders.

"Well you have your own plan set. But won't you become a fallen if you do such an act? I forget how you all decide on that. A demon is a demon is a demon. You're either strong or dead." He shrugged.
"Oh my name is Aeraloth by the way. And a messiah huh? Not worth it. Messiahs die."

"Yes. But giving the alternative I'd rather be a Fallen any day. I won't have to follow anyones rules. I won't have to deny myself of a life outside of servitude. We are unable to love, or marry, to do anything that would interfere with our missions. That's slavery. Besides... I won't be bound. I can be truly free even if on the run." She nodded.
"Aeroloth. I'll call you Loth like the ancient Stag God." She smiled, ohh was it blasphemous to say that but dammit it was knowledge and it wouldn't matter before long.

"I can go for that. Stags are pretty intense. Not as awesome as something from the netherworlds, but that's cool." Aeraloth shrugged. "Just do what you want now. Try and break it without actually being shunned, or is that impossible? This is why other creature tend to dislike yours."

"Yes but it's a son of nature and it still commands strength and loyalty. Nether creature or no, nature does have some beautiful animals too." She shook her head. "No. I will be shunned nothing will change that. And yet I do not mind it. I think you're the first creature I've ever spoken so candidly with."

"Doesn't that feel nice? Worth it to kill someone to be allowed to do that? Usually I don't get so righteous, but I suppose I can let my guard down in front of one with such a predicament." Loth sat down and looked at the water. "Live life the way you want. That's what we do. Simpler that way."

"It's why I took this, Loth. Because I did want to live life the way I wanted. If nothing else help the world by trying to put a stop to someone dangerous who the rest of the world thinks works for good." She sighed and joined his side. "Maybe it doesn't make sense but I wanted to do this one last 'act of faith' before living life to my own tune. Between us, often times after I regained my free will I had wished I'd been born a Demon. Complex and yet simple and free to do as you please with lots of shades of gray."
